Meet your hosts
We’re Glen and Rowena. We met on the Gold Coast in 2010, and after careers in family daycare and quarry management we made our lifestyle move up the mountain to run the retreat. It has been our home, and our guests’ getaway, ever since.
We live on the property in a separate house below the main accommodation, a place we call The Cottage. It shares the same coastal and bush views, but sits well apart from the guest dwellings. That means the House and Villa are entirely yours, whilst we’re only ever a short walk away if you need anything.
How we look after you
We welcome every guest personally on arrival, clean the pool and spa daily, and keep a local information guide in both dwellings with our favourite walks, lookouts and places to eat. Please ask us anything during your stay; local knowledge is part of the service.
The property has been welcoming holiday guests since it was purpose-built for it, back when the southern access road from the Gold Coast, Henri Robert Drive, first opened up the mountain. Since taking over in 2022 we’ve continued to invest in it: an extended verandah along the view side with an insulated fly-over roof, a fully renewed house kitchen, renovated pool and spa, sound suppression between House and Villa, new plush innerspring mattresses throughout, a backup generator and an EV charger.
From the beginning, our vision has been to offer our guests an exceptionally high standard of accommodation, the kind of stay we would expect if we were the guests ourselves.
Many of our guests return year after year, some for birthdays and anniversaries, and one group comes back regularly for their spiritual retreat weekend, drawn by the quiet up here. We hope you’ll want to come back too.
